The 2007 Atlantic Voyage of the Schooner La Revenante

The owners of the replica 18th Century Massachusetts pinky schooner La Revenante, and the supporting Schooner La Revenante Association, announce the major voyaging initiative for the 2007 sailing season, which is to be a voyage to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and return, from the Saint Lawrence River. The purpose of the voyage is to allow the schooner to take part in the Tall Ship Challenge of the American Sail Training Association, to be held in Halifax harbour over the period July 13 to 16, 2007, and to visit selected Maritime ports thereafter before returning to the Saint Lawrence.

The voyage of La Revenante will be in the main a serious passagemaking experience, but enlivened with a period of historical re-enactment, including flags and costuming, while in Halifax and the selected Maritime ports. The Voyage legs as planned at present are as follows, for a total of 28 days:

Kingston Montreal, 2 days
Montreal to Quebec, 2 days
Quebec to Rimouski, 2 days
Rimouski to Summerside, 2 days
Summerside to Charlottetown, 1 day
Charlottetown to Canso, 1 day
Canso to Halifax, 2 days
Halifax Port Visit, 3 days (July 13 to 16, 2007)
Coastal port visits, 10 days
Return passage to Quebec, 6 days

Individuals who wish to take part in the voyage will be required to provide their own kit and equipment, including acceptable historical costuming (if participating in the Halifax visit), and travel costs to and from the ship.
